Cannot sync birthdays from people to calendar... Help!!

I have manually added birthdays to certain people in my Microsoft account ('@outlook.com')...

these birthdays are supposed to automatically sync to my Calendar once added to a contact...

t's been 48 hrs and the birthdays are not updating to the calendar...

I have also tried to delete the birthday calendar and add it back...

I have tried to re-edit the relevant contact to see if it will update to calendar, but that also doesn't work...

I have Nokia Windows Phone 8 and I am using the Microsoft account with the phone...

The contacts are syncing fine with the phone, but the birthday calendar can't update until this problem is resolved...

I desperately want to get all my contacts, birthdays, calendar entries synced

I have also tried to add a birthday in calendar for a contact name I already have in people this then  creates a duplicate contact I then go to manage, clean up contacts this is then fine until about 24 hours later you then have duplicate birthdays

Please help!!!

Ah this date, 25/03/2017, this issue you all have is still present to me too. I have lost any hope in the contacts linking. Skype has come from **** to destroy outlook and it will destroy sms messages too. I bet.

    I FINALLY SOLVED THIS PROBLEM!

I'm now using this sequence of actions and it is adding all my birthdays the the calendar with immediate sync:

    • Activate birthday calendar and keep it active.
    • Go to the people tab and for each contact delete ONLY THE YEAR, save the contact, then ADD THE YEAR BACK and save it again.
      • If this doesn't work (some contacts are impossible to edit for some reasons) you can do this with Outlook 2016 of the Office Suite: Just put 1604 as year and then add back the real year. 1604 is the default year for "no year".
    • Now go to the birthday calendar and check, everything should be ok. Birthdays added with the Outlook 2016 options will create duplicates into your regular calendar too, just delete them manually afterwards.

Thank god i love when the community solves problems that even microsoft itself doesn't seem to be able to solve.

The problem was solved for me as I recreated every single contact (deleting the original one and adding a new one with updated and actual data in it). It took a lot of work and time for more than 300+ contacts but I'm happy with the results. Now I have working birthday calendar and contacts with updated information like new e-mails, deleting old numbers and of course assigning fresh pictures. Also I've assigned GPS coordinates and stopped the synchronization with Skype.
