Cannot sync birthdays from people to calendar... Help!!

I have manually added birthdays to certain people in my Microsoft account ('@outlook.com')...

these birthdays are supposed to automatically sync to my Calendar once added to a contact...

t's been 48 hrs and the birthdays are not updating to the calendar...

I have also tried to delete the birthday calendar and add it back...

I have tried to re-edit the relevant contact to see if it will update to calendar, but that also doesn't work...

I have Nokia Windows Phone 8 and I am using the Microsoft account with the phone...

The contacts are syncing fine with the phone, but the birthday calendar can't update until this problem is resolved...

I desperately want to get all my contacts, birthdays, calendar entries synced

I have also tried to add a birthday in calendar for a contact name I already have in people this then  creates a duplicate contact I then go to manage, clean up contacts this is then fine until about 24 hours later you then have duplicate birthdays

Please help!!!

Do they pay you to give such a response that does not even come close to addressing the issue here in the string of post.  Outlook.com people birthdays DO NOT sync with Outlook.com birthday calendar. PERIDOD, NO  EXCEPTION.  iT JUST DOESN'T WORK.

    Hahaha spot on.

I did manage to force mine to work. For me it was a problem with linked contacts. From what I can tell, any linked account takes precedence over the Outlook data. When the linked account is wrong (as in different from what you want the contact to be) or incomplete (such as no birth year) or removed without first being unlinked, the outlook account is rendered powerless as far as the birthday calendar is concerned. It can even cause them to not show up.

Even though my phone showed no links for the contacts, on outlook.com, there were still links. The way I fixed it was to go into outlook.com's People section and unlink absolutely everything from the contacts that were affected. God help you if you have Facebook links. I posted about that elsewhere. Anyway,  the missing birthdays appeared and the existing birthdays on the calendar changed to match my outlook contact and editing them there changed it on the calendar like it should.

However, After unlinking, some entries in the birthday calendar were added for each of the other accounts, so for some people i had three, but one of them was genuine and updated properly if I changed the contact data. I was able to remove the other "supplied" events. Everything works now.

I'm not sure if re-linking will cause the problem again but have done it for a handful of skype contacts via my phone and haven't noticed anything wrong. There are no duplicates and birthdays show up in the future like they should. We will see.

    Hi All,

I also have the problem after recently moving to outlook.com (regretting slightly). The fact that this post has been ongoing since 2014 doesn't give me a whole lot of faith but here goes.

    Issue

    • Contact has birthday included in outlook.com 'people' address book but birthday does not appear in birthday calendar. The birthday calendar is completely blank so this is not specific to certain contacts only, it is a larger issue.
    • My setup includes using an iCloud account as primary and running a regular sync to outlook, this means that I can access my contacts both from my iPad/iPhone but also Outlook for Mac (which doesn't support iCloud contacts as far as I am aware).

    Tried So Far

    • Deactivating birthday calendar and reactivating.
    • Editing birthday directly in outlook and re-saving.

Any advice would be appreciated :)

    Exactly the same as:

Nothing helps. Looks like a lifetime issue with contacts and calendar. Probably they don't care about their users and doesn't matter if they are using paid Microsoft service (Office 356) or free one.
