Cannot sync birthdays from people to calendar... Help!!

I have manually added birthdays to certain people in my Microsoft account ('@outlook.com')...

these birthdays are supposed to automatically sync to my Calendar once added to a contact...

t's been 48 hrs and the birthdays are not updating to the calendar...

I have also tried to delete the birthday calendar and add it back...

I have tried to re-edit the relevant contact to see if it will update to calendar, but that also doesn't work...

I have Nokia Windows Phone 8 and I am using the Microsoft account with the phone...

The contacts are syncing fine with the phone, but the birthday calendar can't update until this problem is resolved...

I desperately want to get all my contacts, birthdays, calendar entries synced

I have also tried to add a birthday in calendar for a contact name I already have in people this then  creates a duplicate contact I then go to manage, clean up contacts this is then fine until about 24 hours later you then have duplicate birthdays

Please help!!!

    Sorry if I wasn't clear.

    1. Look at the top of the screen where it says "Calendar", "New", "Import", "Share", etc.
    2. Right after "New" you should a thin bar and then a little downward-facing arrow symbol. Click on it.
    3. From the drop-down menu that shows up, choose "Birthday Calendar". The rest should be self-explanatory.

But yeah, this isn't a permanent solution to the problem of disappearing birthdays.

Yeah, I did something similar to that to get my Google Contacts birthday calendar shared with this Calendar. I had to copy every birthday event manually into a new calendar.

But here I don't see a way to copy events from one calendar to another. And even if there were a way to copy events, I wouldn't know whether all the birthdays had actually showed up on my original "Birthday calendar" at the time I copied them over.

    Hi

The "solution" I found is delete this lame calendar as the service is obviously not functional, since months ! A habit at Microsoft, not to solve some problems for years ! (for instance : "Outlook keeps on asking for credentials" : bug existing since Outlook 2003, and still in Outlook 2013, 12 years without solving a bug ! World Record !)

For the record, I also gave up with my Windows Phone : too many sync issues (OneDrive documents, contacts, birthdays, etc.).

For now, I check birthdays on my iPhone. It works perfectly... And any change is pushed within seconds.

We understand your concern with urgently resolving this issue with your birthday calendar and we apologize for not getting back to you sooner. However, we've checked your inquiry and determined that it's still under investigation by our Support Specialists. Rest assured that we are doing our best to fix this. We'll notify you on this thread as soon as updates about it have been provided.

Have a happy February, all together!

Unfortunately, still we're playing birthdays roulette. For February, here's my birthdays calendar and screenshots of contacts with known birthdays, currently missing in the calendar, while tomorrow's results might be different:

    https://www.dropbox.com/sh/yaf6vmhr8psfll5/AABSO43RaTwRVUTKOwgcjzkba?dl=0

    I permit to summarize again:

    • Birthdays disappear and sometimes re-appear in calendar by random
    • All types of contacts are affected**: standalone Outlook.com contacts, linked contacts, standalone Facebook/ Skype etc. contacts**
    • Manual sync of birthdays calendar doesn't resolve
    • Un- and relinking contacts as well as deleting and recreating the birthdays calendarmight result in more or less complete listing of birthdays on short-term -but it doesn't solve the service bug in general**: birthdays will randomly disappear and re-appear again**

This issue is reported since months! Might get assumed that just syncing a Birthdays calendar properlyshouldn't mean rocket science for a company like Microsoft ...

@Moderators: what does it take to make you just take this issue serious, reported and confirmed repeatedly?Wasting customers time by annoying them with senseless boilerplates again and again doesn't resolve the issue! What exactly is the state of investigation? Have you even reported this to Microsoft? Are they aware of this thread for instance?

@Microsoft - aren't yourselves using your offered services? Please realize: an inconsistent birthdays calendar service is worthless. Please analyze the birthday calendars' sync processes and finally fix the service!

Any kind of serious support is highly appreciated. We're all curious about findings and results. Since months...

    Thanks
