Cannot sync birthdays from people to calendar... Help!!

I have manually added birthdays to certain people in my Microsoft account ('@outlook.com')...

these birthdays are supposed to automatically sync to my Calendar once added to a contact...

t's been 48 hrs and the birthdays are not updating to the calendar...

I have also tried to delete the birthday calendar and add it back...

I have tried to re-edit the relevant contact to see if it will update to calendar, but that also doesn't work...

I have Nokia Windows Phone 8 and I am using the Microsoft account with the phone...

The contacts are syncing fine with the phone, but the birthday calendar can't update until this problem is resolved...

I desperately want to get all my contacts, birthdays, calendar entries synced

I have also tried to add a birthday in calendar for a contact name I already have in people this then  creates a duplicate contact I then go to manage, clean up contacts this is then fine until about 24 hours later you then have duplicate birthdays

Please help!!!

It does make one wonder what Microsoft's agenda is - do they want us all to purchase Outlook or some other expensive Microsoft software??  Perhaps we should all just ditch our current emails and go to another provider - that might help Microsoft to sit up and pay attention, but of course then it will be too late, we will all have gone.

I have been experiencing this very same problem since months and no solution is in sight:

    http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook_com/forum/ocalendar-oaddtask/some-facebook-birthdays-disappear-from-the/827331ad-87c6-49f1-8e16-59390f3af5a1

The Birthdays Calendar service is completely unreliable and Microsoft's silence on it is such a shame!

I cross-linked the two threads and encourage everyone to express negative feedback on http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=255155 referencing this thread in the comments:

Escalate this problem (I'm talking about being ignored) one step further.

Here is the link to the feedback form for Outlook:

Tell Microsoft that we are not satisfied.

Microsoft is not taking this seriously, so I suggest that everyone who hasn't done so already:

    Any other routes? :)

I just permitted to post a corresponding comment on "Blogging Windows", where Windows 10 gets big hype and attention preliminary, encouraging everyone here to follow:

Thanks! The last reply from Microsoft was on September 27; they are turning a blind eye...

There is no doubt that live.com has several issues, like saving a .csv People backup with birthday dates in local format (15-05-1959 in Denmark) instead of the proper ISO date format (1959-05-15) is enough to give me nerdy tics.

The post from HarryHerlin explains the trouble I had with the automatic birthdays during the summer and fall 2014, after creating a group of best friends on the Windows phone and missing those people's birthdays later - but it is not the current behaviour on my Microsoft account. It is now stable for a month.

The error on my account was never a birthday roulette, it was a case of certain people's birthdays missing.

I'm happy to help investigate and escalate this, but it must be a reproducible error on a fresh test account.
