Sync Outlook.com Task list to Android phone

I am using outlook.com for my web-based services.  I have an android phone (Motorola Droid Razr) on which I have installed the outlook.com app.  I have no issues with e-mail or calendar, but I can't seem to figure out how to get the outlook.com 'Tasks' on the phone. Does anyone know how to sync the task list to an android phone?

Just in case anyone else stumbles across this, as I did when trying to sync my outlook tasks to my android calendar... 

To accomplish this, set up your Outlook.com email address as a Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync account in your Android Phone (I have a Note 2).  Do this by going to Settings, Accounts, Add account.  Then, choose Microsoft ActiveSync account in the next step.  Add your Outlook.com address and Password as it walks you through the set-up process.  It will, by default, have you set up to sync, email, contacts and tasks.  When this is done,  go to the calendar app on your phone.  Your Outlook tasks should be there along with your calendar entries.

    Hi Everyone,

    Our sincere apologies for the confusion.  Let me clarify a few things.  Syncing tasks on the mobile phone depends on each mobile phone's capability and specifications regardless of the Operating System, phone brand or model. 

    What matters is that the mobile phone needs to be capable of having EAS or Exchange ActiveSync configuration.  Secondly, it also depends on the mobile phone's default calendar app if it is capable of syncing calendars including tasks.

    In case you are having difficulties syncing calendars or tasks on your mobile phone, please let us know so we can assist you.

    I have a Nexus 5, running Lolipop 5.2.2. 

    • I make tasks on my desktop version of outlook, which is Microsoft Office Pro Plus 2016
    • I simply want the tasks to sync to my phone, so I don't have to use another app to make the tasks.
    • I don't care how this is accomplished
    1. I don't know if my phone does EAS
    2. I don't know if the native calendar app is capable of syncing tasks, it does sync my gmail calendar
    3. Why doesn't the Android Outlook app simply sync the tasks?

    Your suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    I think I have found how to have my desktop tasks (that I add under my OUTLOOK.com account) to sync to my phone, but... how do I add a task on my LG Andriod phone?  I can add an event, but can't see how to add a task.

    Save yourself some time and just go with Todoist.com.  I have used SEVERAL task management services and keep coming back to Todoist.  If your work allows web access then abandon Outlook and use Todoist.   Detail below:   

    BEST:

    Todoist.com

    Provides more flexibility.

    Works great on all platforms.

    There is a yearly fee of $ 30 but to me it is worth it.

    Text message alert for tasks.

    Outlook plug in if needed.  

    Tags

    Projects

    Sub tasks

    Nice pop reminder system that will work with Chrome.

    AVERAGE:  

    Outlook 2013 ( still a good choice for Calendar and Emailbutmediocre for tasks )

    Mediocre cross platform support and limited apps on android.  

    Great if most of your task management is done on a desktop or tablet that has Windows.  

    Categories don't maintain color when moving between different devices.  

    Poor option if you go back and forth between different computers.  

    No text message alert options limited alert options.

    Unable to create new online folders from Outlook 2013.  

    Constant duplicate task issue when trying to save.  

    Due dates can be incorrect when grouping by due date in certain views.  

    Online tasks will not link with One Note.  

    POOR:  ( Simple is the best word )

    Google Tasks

    Lacks all the detail of the above two and can be very frustrating if you need detailed organization and repeating tasks.    

    If you have an Android app that allow repeating Google Tasks, they will not sync with your desktop.

    I am trying to decide whether to stay with Google or go to Outlook.com and the deciding factor is whether it has tasks or not because that is a primary use for productivity management.
