Hi

Teams is almost killing my laptop. Here's an example:

Is there anything  can do to reduce Teams' memory usage?

Or do I just need to buy more memory?

Thanks!

Same issue here, Teams is using about 0,5 GB of memory which doesn't seem to be normal :(

I agree that Teams memory footprint (550 MB while idle) seems excessive.  This article from MS explains how memory is used by Teams, and that memory usage pattern is the same for both the client desktop and web versions.  I found the client and web apps to use similar memory after launch and idle usage.  The article describes that both versions use the Chromium rendering engine, so makes sense.

I have not tried to test the memory release mechanism that is described in the article, but would be interesting to hear if others have seen this work in practice.

    This platform is useless.

With the current situation at hand with all work and learning expedited online, why did I install an app that has taken over all my machines resources?

I run HD CAD and Cam applications but this useless piece of MS software has my crippled my business and childrens online learning capabilities.

I uninstall "team" and my normal business on my machines continue back to a normal experience.

    Fnuken hopeless. 😔

It would be good if someone from Microsoft is able to respond with some sort of perspective? It is difficult for us IT professionals to recommend any toll roll out with such a basic flaw.
