Teams hogging memory, running slowly

Very similar issues this end (as well as a lot of first party add-ons not working properly and causing loss of data - but that's another thread).

After taking MS recommendation to move the team up to MS Teams from Skype for Business (without explaining that there was no cross compatibility between the two - alienating us from our clients and offering no solution to roll back) I have found that Teams uses too many resources to be a function addition to our day to day work environment.

I'm genuinely dismayed by the whole roll out process and clearly many other agree. I would suggest rolling back the aggressive policy of forcing the use of Teams over SfB until this is resolved.

This is not really an acceptable response. Can you please escalate this case to the development team. A short term solution is required as Teams is currently causing day to day issues for MS users all over the planet. Unacceptable.

Hi, I solved by a workaround, I disabled GPU = acceleration material.

To do that make a right click on Teams icon in task bar and Settings = Disable material acceleration.

To be honest, It's not used.... I don't see the difference except that my PC doesn't make fan noise ;-)

It's a workaround, but clearly Microsoft team in charge of Teams Dev and particulary 3D using need to check !

It often uses more memory than Visual studio 2019 does.

I miss lync, urm, skype for business

At least that was a complete application that worked properly

Teams seems to be half baked like most of the new Microsoft products

We found the culprit to be the Teams Add in for Outlook. When we unticked it, performance went back to normal. This was a Win210 machine running 1909 Office Apps.
