Teams hogging memory, running slowly

Hi

Teams is almost killing my laptop. Here's an example:

Is there anything  can do to reduce Teams' memory usage?

Or do I just need to buy more memory?

Thanks!

Please fix the memory issue.  Clearly it is a problem there would not be 1400+ responses if it wasn't.  It is unprofessional to have software that consumes so much memory.  This is terrible engineering.

    This is really poor, Microsoft!

The app uses on average 900MB of memory when not on a video call, when I am on a video call it uses over 1,000 MB.

There is obviously something wrong here and I don't find your suggestions very helpful at all.

Are MS going to try and resolve this or not?

I hate using this every day but I have to because the business has chosen to use it.

Apart from the memory issue it is really good, but un-useable sometimes.

Holy moly, what is teams doing? I cannot understand how it could be using so much memory all of the time? This makes it very difficult to work. All of these years, and they can't figure out a way to stop this?

    Hi All,

Sorry for bringing your inconvenience. As mentioned by the Teams engineer in this feedback, Performance has been and continues to be a big focus area for Teams. One main area we have made improvements in is responsiveness for the most frequent user actions of switching between Chat, Channel, and Activity. We are also focused on reducing resource consumption and application load time. More improvements are on the way.

Here is the UserVoice link: https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/555103-public/suggestions/17219609-teams-uses-600mb-and-is-super-slow

Our related team is working on it, if you are experiencing the same issue, it is recommended to vote for the feedback. Thanks for your efforts to make Teams better.

    Regards,

    Huni

So this was in 2019, how come RAM and CPU usage is still very much the same issue (if not worse because of pandemic and we heavily need to rely on programs like Teams)

Doesn't sound to me like any of you have prioritised resource drain whatsoever. Especially when I'm sitting here at work with a client's laptop in front of me. It has Teams running in the backround, not doing anything aside from just existing and it drains between 500 MB to 1 GB worth of RAM and between 10% and 40% of the CPU. And this is after I've done all the solutions people found to reduce the resource usage.

So please, please tell me how anyone is working on it.
