Teams hogging memory, running slowly

I am also having the same issue with the Teams Outlook add in causing the CPU usage to spike to 100% until either Outlook is closed, or the add in is disabled, which immediately re-enables when Outlook opens back up. Please either make it a choice to enable the add in or remove it completely as this is causing a lot of issues, and I cannot afford to go out and touch over 2,000 machines that have this installed.

A year later and I'm having to echo all the comments here because Msft hasn't responded. Skype is going away but no way is Teams ready for prime time until this memory problem is fixed. Another example of Msft's inability to build anything "modern".

Yeah, I feel like I'd like to join in as well. I work for a deputy mayor at our town hall (Prague 3 District) that's responsible for IT. We're trying to drag the entire building into the 21st century, kicking and screaming, but still. We decided to get MS Teams and possibly elevate it to the main mode of communications amongst the hundreds of employees we have here. I'm supposed to lecture my colleagues on how to use it but at the moment, I'm not convinced it's such a good idea since I'm using it less and less myself as it's literally killing my computer every time it's on. Once you kill the app, the computer is fine again. Tested on multiple computers of many of my colleagues. I have no idea why it needs as much memory as Chrome even if it's not doing anything. It kinda sucks, because otherwise I quite like it and would love to make people use it, but it's hard to do that at the moment when it's working this poorly.

Can you guys put a button in the app to do this?

Good idea, and yes I agree - Slack is also an Electron app and doesn't have this problem.

I suspect that Microsoft is working on converting Teams to React Native, but I can't explain why they are so unresponsive about these issues.
