Teams hogging memory, running slowly

Hi

Teams is almost killing my laptop. Here's an example:

Is there anything  can do to reduce Teams' memory usage?

Or do I just need to buy more memory?

    I think just about everyone using Teams on Windows and Mac OSX experiences this. Very sad really, MS won't even address the issue head on and just deny it, even while there are many new entries on posts like this all over the place every day.

    It's a disgrace. I run a high spec machine for animation and video production and teams still eats half the resources minimum if running. I can't believe the state of play Ms have left their users in here and if orgs were not so tied to O365 a lot more would have bailed by now.

    Any representative from MS want to comment on this without making out that everyone on here is technically inept and fobbing us off?

    Teams makes my Surface Book's fan spin at full speed and when using Magnifier it is absolutely impossible to even move the mouse cursor! When I shutdown Teams my Surface Book runs normal and very fast. It must be Teams!

    I stopped it from starting automatically on my computer and will not run it in the background and only start it when I have a meeting and pick up calls on my iPhone.

    Teams runs fine on iOS, Android and Linux where I tested it.

    same. the real problem seem to be GPU usage which varies between 5-100%.

    I can't use this software anymore. Within a minute of booting up, my laptop heats up while idling and becomes painfully slow because of Teams. And this is an i7 with 16GB RAM. Frustrating and disheartening to see that the problem has persisted for so long.

    My setup is similar.   Windows 10 Pro and it's a brand new Surface Pro 7.  

    In speaking with and sharing my logs with MS Teams support they dismissed this problem, and said their software is running correctly.  They officially sent me to the Windows support team who said the problem is likely with MS Teams. 

    Oh well.
