Hi

Teams is almost killing my laptop. Here's an example:

Is there anything  can do to reduce Teams' memory usage?

Or do I just need to buy more memory?

Thanks!

This does not really help, the performance continues to be slow and very high utilization of memory.

I have been looking at this for a while and can only assume the issue is with either Electron or MS Teams code. The Teams app doesn't play well with some hardware setups.

I have a low spec laptop and everything is fine, my desktop is way better spec but Teams consumes CPU% when using Video.

I have updated all Teams shortcuts to:

    C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe /c start "Microsoft Teams" /Normal /affinity 6 "C:\Users\your.profile\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Teams\Update.exe" --processStart "Teams.exe"

This command runs Teams and sets it to only use CPU Cores 2 & 3 (I have four cores).

I know this is not a fix but Teams was crippling my system.

I am waiting for MS to release the new Web based desktop client in the hope that it works.

My counsel is do not use this chat stream.  I dared to say that  I chose simply to buy more memory. The obnoxious and abusive responses I received from techie people for ‘daring’ to say what worked for me was unacceptable. I was talking s**t, I was a ‘d**khead’, I was an ‘a**hole’.

Take my advice do not get involved on this stream.
