Teams hogging memory, running slowly

Hi

Teams is almost killing my laptop. Here's an example:

Is there anything  can do to reduce Teams' memory usage?

Or do I just need to buy more memory?

    Hi Oldhasbeen,

    Memory is not the problem. Disk access is problem. It is at 100%. Probably you are using non-SSD type HDD.

    Avneet - dont get me wrong SSD's are awesome, but teams should not put a HDD to 100% disk usage and upgrading to an SSD may help, but is not a 'solution'

    This is a much larger issue with Teams itself.

    In my case even before installing Teams it was very slow and I found that it was due to HDD. After I installed SSD, it has become very smooth. I think HDDs are not able to meet write/read speed requirements of today's computers

    We have many users in our organization with this issue and every computer we provide has a SSD.

    Hi Everyone,

    I'm happy to report that after sending a few emails to former colleagues at MS I have managed to get a direct line to the Lead Dev on Teams and am putting together some information to send over to them to help get these issues resolved.

    If you are experiencing high resource usage from teams, please feel free to post a screenshot of both your Processes Tab on task Manager and a second screenshot of your System Information (easiest way is probably to run 'dxdiag' which is native in windows and screenshot the first page).

    I'm not sure if this will help or how long it will take but I've now made the dev team aware of this forum and a few others and the more specific information we can provide will only help in the investigation into these issues.
