Also, memory usage is not stable.
Having app closed (w/o UI opened) he's tooking about 4gb of RAM (well, taskmanager only tolds me 900mb... but when I've closed teams from tray, 4gb have been freed).
After restarting the app, memory usage grows 2gb (taskmanager tolds me now 700mb).
The first case is a measure after having teams started for some days. The second case, I've completely closed and reopened teams.
This sounds as a memory leak... And that's nothing new here.
I have a computer with 32gb of ram. It's not acceptable who Teams gets 4gb when they like to do it. I understand I have a lot of ram, but I have it because I need it, It's not here only for teams.
Another example of excesive memory usage (without more checks): Outlook are using 3 processes and 162mb of ram (started since a week ago) (with 1 exchange / 365 account and 9 imaps, about 30gb of data files). Teams are using 7 processes and 739mb of ram
(fresly started). Probably outlook nor teams are using more memory, but that's not strange? (both apps are doing anything, minimized). Excel 110mb of ram. I can check lot of more apps, and on all cases, Teams are a nonsense. Even Skype (an user app) are using
6 processes and only 160mb of ram!
MS, check user voice (as you tolds on the firsts posts of this thread). More than 16000 upvotes. That's not a perception problem of the users. That's not a cache problem. That's not a user problem. If the problem are the UI or the codebase, redo it. Why
electron or someothershit-js based? Use a proper language, and optimize the app if that's the problem. Teams are not a gaming app. Teams are not a teen app for doing some **** with other teens. Teams are a very important (more now on COVID times) work application
for lot of enterprises. But if the app doesn't allow a VS to run smoothly, or a MS SQL Server, or simply a Outlook, lot of us we need to consider to change to another app.
Maybe the problem are on MS itself and not the language... because from some time ago, all MS apps grew up their memory usage without reason (check W10 2004 for example and compare it with 18xx versions). Well, maybe you didn't notice, because the apps have
a low memory footprint (at least on taskmanager)... but if you try to sum all your taskmanager memory usages, you notice the usage of each app aren't the total.
