Hi

Teams is almost killing my laptop. Here's an example:

Is there anything  can do to reduce Teams' memory usage?

Or do I just need to buy more memory?

Thanks!

Just chiming in to say that my instance is currently taking up 2,450 MB of RAM and 35,5% of CPU. This is a ****ing CHAT APP.

I think we should just switch to Slack... or even Discord has better performance than this.

Teams takes up memory for me too. Wonder why this isn't fixed yet...

SQL Server has a setting that has Max memory that it can consume. Teams should be set the same way in my opinion.

LOL - Slow doesn't just refer to the pace the improvement is coming ... It is a very good description of what Teams does to my Surface Pro. Your update was from 2018, and I'd say the performance has definitely gotten worse as you jam more features into Teams.

I spent ages on these forums hoping for something helpful. Techie people tell you to do things with caches and stuff like that - but I'm not techie and I'm running windows 10 home and what they tell you to do isn't there. A really early bit of advice was 'buy more memory'  (which only works if you can actually add more memory) . I had to get teams working better so in the end I gave in an bought 8 gb more memory - it worked for me .......but my lord the vile abuse I got from people in these forums for daring so speak the unspeakable and say what worked for me convinced me to avoid forums like the plague. I'm going against my better instincts replying  to this but you just seemed like a person in the same boat I was.  We'll see what  comes out of the  woodwork.
