Images blurry when saving to PDF

Split from this thread because this seems to be an issue with the iPad version

I just had a look at the versions 19 (insider slow) and 20 (insider fast) as likely the official update is to be expected tonight. However, the same problem persists with Powerpoint 2016 for Mac Version 19 as well as 20. At least, when exporting with the ios Version on ipad the lines are not there - but the colors are still way darker than the original.

Now that weeks have passed and this is really a very serious issue, is there any idea, if at all and when this will be solved?!

    As mentioned today I tried version 20 (181112, guess build from yesterday), same as version 19. After install, report and pdf export it still produces unexpected results.

    See the following images, where left is always the original powerpoint and to the right is always the exported corresponding pdf.

    • darker colors (pic 1 and 3)
    • borders in the pdf around images, where there is no border in the original (pic 2)

    As I understood above, the team had been aware of this a few weeks back. I'd be just wondering, when to expect a fix, cause all our professionally intended presentations go out in very bad quality to customers in pdf format, which leaves a really really bad impression.

    This problem has not only been going on for WEEKS, it has been going on for MONTHS!!!

    I first encountered this issue when publishing book covers using PowerPoint and was horrified when my very crisp and clean type font turned into a muddy mess after conversion to PDF.  

    I finally had to go back to a TimeMachine retained version of PPT v14. 

    This resolved my issues with the conversion.  

    I have two copies of PPT on my desktop - the most current version - which I never use because I can't trust it to work properly, and my V 14, which I use daily for my book cover creations.  

    WHY CAN"T MS SIMPLY GO BACK to an older version of PPT and copy the 'working code' from the older versions that work into the updated versions that don't work?

    I just recovered version 12 from my backup. And guess what, it is the same issue. I only recovered the Powerpoint app. So it must be some common component or other side effect with Mojave.

    The team is working on a fix for this issue for users running Mojave. I don't have an ETA at this time.
