I wouldn't mind it being intentional to change the default behaviour if there was a front-end options toggle method, but registry edit is a terrible workaround! Please revert OR make front-end option easier to change.
PS And the error message "Copying meetings is not supported" is woefully insufficient to those used to using this functionality too, it should be fuller and more honest about your (terrible in my opinion) intentional decision! If "Actions related to copied meetings yield unexpected results, so we recommend avoiding copying meetings." was your motivation, why not just keep supporting it but with a warning? For me and doubtless many others, Actions related to copied meetings yield EXPECTED results, like saving me a lot of time!
