Bring Your 3D Models to Life with *New* 3D Animations in PowerPoint

Hey Insiders!

My name is Aimee, and I'm a PM in the Office Graphics team. I’m excited to announce five new 3D animations in PowerPoint that can bring your 3D models to life. These are fantastic for exploring models, elevating your storytelling skills, and building even more immersive presentations.

3D Animations has begun rolling out to Windows Desktop Office 365 subscribers for Insiders Slow on Version 1712 (Build 8827.2082).

Getting started

Applying these new 3D animations is easy and familiar.

  1. In PowerPoint, insert any 3D model you would like to animate

  1. Navigate to the Animation Ribbon. With your 3D model selected, the five new 3D animations will be available in the Animations Gallery. Go ahead and select one!

  1. Adjust the direction, intensity and other parameters of your 3D animation in the Effect Options dropdown, located in the Animations Ribbon

    I don't Know why my computer can't show a image 3D when I download ? somebody can help me here please?

    Yes x1000 for the ability to dynamically be able to manipulate 3D objects during a presentation! That would add so much, especially so in an educational environment.

    Would be HUGE!!!

    Hello,

    is it planned to add an option for viewing dynamically the 3D model while in  slideshow mode I mean in Powerpoint?

    having the 3D animation running is fine but an inteactive manipulation could also be valuable.

    on the other hand 3D annotation could also be great.

    Interacting with the 3D object during slideshow would be amazing as well!

    This is amazing!. As an Educational Content provider, having this animation will go a long way. Please consider the ability to interact with 3D object during slideshow to pan and rotate it.

    Regarding the new slideshow recording, it will be nice to have more options for pen size and colors and live interaction with 3D objects.
