I am using the new outlook desktop app and this no longer adds capitals to a sentence even tho everything is turned on. I believe I'm not the first to raise this. can this please be fixed or can i be pointed in the direction of how to correct this.

I agree. We live in a day and time, that we're use to everything capitalizing for us. The act of Shift + Letter, is disappearing. Sounds ridiculous, but that small action, frustrates me and slows down work flow. The editor, though robust, not as straightforward as it has been in the past.

Another feature that I've missed is when I double-click on an email, to open it, that making it "marked as read". That is not an option within the new Outlook.

Another frustrating feature - right click to edit an word - whether that be spell check, etc. That is now left click...why? Where else is that ever left click? Even Copy and Paste doesn't work properly??

I will continue to use the older version of Outlook.

Even Office 98 had auto correct.

The options in "Editor" are merely highlighting potential spelling and grammatical issues and, not auto correcting even the simplest of things.

I love the new look but not having this feature is really frustrating and is, imo, a show stopper.

I am having a similar issue-- when I type the letter i it does not automatically capitalize. I assumed this would be an automatic feature, I am not sure why New Outlook is not capitalizing the letter i

    Hello Neil Kennett,

    You're welcome!

Thank you for answering our question, would agree that you may have to go back to old Outlook as this Auto-capitalization in new Outlook is not working. I also have guessed the same thing and was wondering if this has something to do with auto-correct feature, by the way, screenshot in number 2 though came from Old Outlook setup (launch Outlook app for Windows > File > Options > Mail > under compose messages - Editor Options > on Proofing, under AutoCorrect Options > Autocorrect tab). Since we have isolated the issue to be on new Outlook, we recommend you to send this report/feedback to the team next time you switch to New Outlook platform (kindly look for feedback option). The team will work on the feedback as you are part of the tester or this preview.

If you have further concerns kindly create a new thread using this link - Create a new question or start a discussion.

    Regards,

    Kathy A.
