I am using the new outlook desktop app and this no longer adds capitals to a sentence even tho everything is turned on. I believe I'm not the first to raise this. can this please be fixed or can i be pointed in the direction of how to correct this.

This is only one of the most frustrating omissions in the New Outlook. I have a list of others, but equally important is the disappearance of the paintbrush format copier.

I am having the same issue. I love that the old version would auto correct and assume text. I am finding that the new version does not auto capitalize and does not auto correct. I like the look of the new but I miss the simple features of the old. I have to go back and make sure I correct the mistakes of not having the auto correct and auto capitalize.

    Please fix!!!!!!!

    Hi Kathy-

Do you have a timeline on when this will be updated? Perhaps someone can do a "ctrl + c" from the old code along with a "ctrl + v" into the new code to move this basic functionality over? Maybe we could even use Copilot to do it for us?

    Thanks-

    Ryan

Hello Calah, this is available in Settings. Go to the upper right gear (Settings), click on View All Outlook Settings, select Mail on the left and Message Handling. There you have the Mark as read options.

    Hope this helps.

I've also gone back to old Outlook because of this. I haven't had to manually capitalize the letter "I" or the beginning of a sentence in years.. it seems crazy that new Outlook dropped this functionality.
