Insider Fast: Our initial 64-bit release of Office 2016 for Mac is now live!

Hello Office for Mac Insiders,

We have released the first drop of a fully 64-bit version of Office 2016 for Mac to the Insider Fast channel! The update number is 15.25 (160630). I do encourage Insider Fast users to install this update and give it a test. We want to know about any problems you encounter as soon as possible, so that we can make sure we address them before the official release.

This is a huge update for Office and something that we have been working towards for a very long time. I’m thrilled to finally have it available for testing!

The Insider Fast channel is intended for early adopters and those wanting the earliest view into upcoming releases, and the 64-bit version will progress to the Insider Slow channels and to widespread publication over time. I can’t speak to a specific date for that wide release for you yet, so please send us your feedback as soon as you can.

    I am observing a new problem, where if I copy and paste a range of cells from Excel and Paste as Picture in PowerPoint, that after saving and re-opening the PowerPoint file, I get an image cannot be found placeholder. It only happens on one particular sheet though, and not consistently.

    I tried a workaround of pasting first into Word as picture, then copy and pasting from there, but using that method when pasting in PowerPoint, I immediately get the picture cannot be found frame pasted instead.

    Finally as a workaround, I took a screen shot of the spreadsheet and pasted that into PowerPoint. That worked fine.

    Again, not able to upload the file due to confidentiality... :(

    very impressive... I'd really rather you get the software working properly before worrying about transitioning to 64bit. There are so many problems with Outlook and Word, and each new release seems to fix a few problems and introduce a load more.

    I'm assuming you have some kind of QA procedure? I think it needs improving.

    This update completely broke the functionality with WebEx Productivity Tools.  I can no longer add WebEx information to a Outlook Meeting invite.

    I'm assuming you have some kind of QA procedure? I think it needs improving.

    Then you shouldn't be on fast release builds. This is beta software. If you want to mitigate having software with bugs, you should uncheck the "Insider" box in the Office update tool.
