Hi Insiders,

My name is Constance, and I’m a program manager on the Office Graphics team. We're excited to announce the availability of a new collection of icons. Browse through more than 500 icons to find one that suits your purpose, and then edit its fill and outline to match a theme.

Check it out!

Availability

If you receive builds of Office 2016 for Windows through the Office Insiders Slow or Fast level, you can now add icons into any Word document, Excel workbook, PowerPoint presentation or Outlook email.

Get started

In any app, click Insert > Icons:

Scenarios to try

Insert icons

  1. Click Insert > Icons.
  2. From the Insert Icon dialog box, search for an icon, or browse by category.
  3. Insert the icon into your document, presentation, workbook, or e-mail message.

Edit Icons

  • After you insert an icon, use the formatting options on the Graphics Tools tab to change the icon’s fill or outline, or to add a visual effect such as glow or shadow.

Let us know what you think!

Thanks,

The Office Graphics Team

    Hi Peter,

Would you be willing to share the plugin? This feature would be a huge upgrade for me and my company.

    Thanks,

When are you going to include this feature in Office 365 for Mac?

I have seen reports that in January MS had succeeded in merging the underlying code for Mac and PC versions of Word.  So, in theory, MS should be able to deliver identical features to both PC and Mac versions at the same time.

Since this is a "missing" / "new feature" problem, you should submit it to MS via the Feedback system

    [Feedback Hub Wiki

    Send Feedback to MS Developers

You can send your complaint and feature request directly to MS developers and managers using the "Feedback" process described in this link:

Please post a link to your feedback, back here so other people who find your question  will be able to vote for it and add their comments to it.

Turns out what they don't tell you is that if you have Office 2016 on your Mac, you don't have the luxury of using this awesome feature. I had it when I initially installed Office 365 to my Mac and it was amazing! I did an update and then they were all gone. I would LOVE to have this option back for Mac users as I, and I'm sure many others have the same system.
