Introducing the first preview of Visio, designed for your iPad

Are you ready, Insiders?

Visio is here, and we are excited to bring you an early preview version, loaded with new features and goodies to try. As an Office Insider, you get to see the new things first, share your feedback, and enable us to make our products the best they can be for you.

We are looking for around 2000 iPad users to try out the app in the following languages: English, Chinese, French, German, Russian and Spanish. 

How do I sign up for Visio for iPad Insider program? 

You can sign up directly on this site by clicking the Submit button.

If your colleagues are interested in the Visio on iPad Insider program, we encourage you to forward them to our sign-up page. Any details entered in the participation form will be used only for the purpose of inviting a participant to a preview of the app.

We're setting the stage for what's about to come. At this point, we are only able to invite a small number of participants to join. However, we plan to invite to more people in the future, so watch for updates in the Visio Insider forum. 

What are the system requirements for Visio for iPad app? 

The app is available on all iPads, including iPad Mini and iPad Pro, that run iOS 9.0 or later.

When will the first preview of the app be available? 

We plan to roll out our first feature update around August-September 2016. 

How do I install Visio for iPad? 

Once you qualify, you'll receive an email invitation and confirmation from the Visio Insider team.

When you do, please open the email invite on your iPad and tap Start Testing. If you open the email on any other device, please make sure you open ‘Start testing’ in Apple Safari or Google Chrome.  

How do I get started with Visio for iPad? 

Once the app is installed, open the app and sign in with your Microsoft account. Once signed in, you will be connected to OneDrive or OneDrive for Business cloud services. You will be able to readily access your Visio files stored in the cloud. You can also share a Visio file from any other app, say Outlook, and view your diagram.   

What are the key functionalities and features of Visio Insider program?

As an Insider, you receive early access and are encouraged to share your thoughts with us on the following:

• View files from OneDrive, OneDrive for Business, or SharePoint, or files received as email attachments
• The Pan and Zoom experience is optimized for a small touch screen
• Turn the visibility of layers on or off
• Copy the current view of a Visio diagram as an image and paste it in another app
• Share a file as a link or attachment
• Find text in a shape
• AirPrint a Visio file

When will Visio on iPad be generally available through Apple Store? 

We are working on it, and plan to roll out Visio on iPad to all customers in the near future.

Is Visio for iPad free?

Yes! the first release of the app in the Apple Store will be available to everyone for free.
