How to stop notifications in the new notifications pane?

Recently, Outlook added a notifications icon that expands a pane. It has a lot of dreck from all Office applications, such as Word comments. I looked in Outlook options but only see tabs for tasks and emails. Is there a way to just tell Outlook not to report any of the notifications?

Good morning, ithinktfiam.

Thanks for reaching out to our Microsoft Community Forum. Please accept our sincerest hope that all is well.

We understand that you would like to stop notifications in the new notification pane of Outlook.

This article below actually shows just how to do that. I've added a photo for more clarity as well.

As you can see from step 3 in the photo above you can actually turn off notifications.

Feel free to reply to this thread if you need further clarification or help.

Sincerely,

I've disabled everything but every time Outlook launches the Notification Pane pushes the Task/Calendar Pane aside , the Notifications Icon appears at the top, then it all disappears.

I've resized the Notification Pane window as narrow as it can be, hit Close, but it still momentarily shows every Outlook launch.

Super-annoying (as EM might say). If there was an option for "Show Notification Pane" On/Off those of us who have used Outlook since the 90s don't ever have to see it if that's what we want.

Can this be turned off globally for all users via Exchange Admin (M365)?
