MacOS "Another account from your organisation is already signed in on this device"

I have an Office 365 subscription through my work, after recently updating Office, every time I now open Word, Excel or PowerPoint, I am prompted to sign in and activate the product. When I try to, I get this error “Another account from your organisation is already signed in on this device".

I have tried multiple suggestions as follow :

My Office apps are all up to date and I am running macOS Monterey Version 12.6.

Excel for Mac version is 16.68.

EDIT : upgrading to macOS Ventura (13.0.1) didn't solve the issue

    For me, the office reset tool did not help.

    What solved this for me, was to remove any Microsoft entries in keychain access, then I downloaded and ran the licence uninstaller (https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/how-to-remove-office-license-files-on-a-mac-b032c0f6-a431-4dad-83a9-6b727c03b193?ui=en-us&rs=en-us&ad=us) . When I opened an Office program, it let me sign in with the desired organization account.

    I have been having the same issue for the last two days.

    I've done all the steps, all the removal tools, all the reboots, all the complete uninstall and reinstalls.

    I thought I had it figured out after running this script to do a deep uninstall, following the additional steps and reinstalling:

    Was working fine and was adding everything back, when I got a popup message like this:

    And boom I'm back in the same boat:

    This is beyond frustrating folks - I've wasted hours on this over the past couple of days and Office is unusable.

    Microsoft Support team please help!

    I want to thank everyone who has participated in this thread. Microsoft has been alerted to this issue and this thread, in particular. I am sure the postings here will help them figure out what's going wrong and fix it.

    What was up with me (I think) is that I realised this started soon after adding a second business profile to Edge. Once I removed that (and reset everything) I have had no problems.
