I have an Office 365 subscription through my work, after recently updating Office, every time I now open Word, Excel or PowerPoint, I am prompted to sign in and activate the product. When I try to, I get this error “Another account from your organisation is already signed in on this device". I have tried multiple suggestions as follow : Delete all Keychain entries relating to Office Uninstall Office and reinstall it via portal.office.com Install removal license tool Remove all Outlook accounts and add them (as suggested here https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/all/word-and-excel-keep-prompting-for-activation-every/a055b722-574f-4dbc-974d-a8a336a119e7?messageId=c0435c83-9040-4180-8a22-d8f5850509c1 ) My Office apps are all up to date and I am running macOS Monterey Version 12.6. Excel for Mac version is 16.68. Thank you for your support. It was a bit of mare in the end the steps were: deleting key chain, using licence removal tool and office reset tool. Restart computer. Then we made a new alias of my email login using the onmicrosoft login and made that the primary login. That allowed us to get slightly further so then we repeated the steps of deleting the key chain, using licence removal tool and office reset tool. Restart computer. That allowed us to login in with the alias so then we reverted my email to be the primary login and tra la! Hope this helps.

Actually you are incorrect. I finally got a competent microdots agent to sort it out. Very much on Microsoft's side..

Hi I think you have completely ruled out installation and client-side issues. This is on your system admins.

I am the admin of my Microsoft 365 tenant. My license is used on MacOS, Windows 10, Windows 11 and Android. This issue just appeared this morning on my office iMac running Monterey 12.6.2 and Office apps versioned 16.70. The error that another account is signed in is a red herring. The Office-Reset License and Sign-in reset did not work in this case. Office-Reset was used to remove Office completely. It was then re-installed, and the same version 16.70 is what downloaded from Microsoft. It's working fine now. I don't know what the cause of this issue is, But I do know what it's not. It's not because another 365 user was logged in on the same device as the error message indicates.
