Same problem here - reverting back, Not sure why they think they can uninstall without at least giving us the option.

Yesterday (8/24/18), my desktop version of OneNote disappeared -- uninstalled itself. I reinstalled Office on my desktop (64-bit Insider version), and OneNote desktop was restored. Today, OneNote was missing again.
What is going on?

Just finished rolling back to the monthly channel. Also did an Online Repair. Desktop 2016 now shows - hope it doesn't disappear again just before needing it to present notes to others!
This happened to me this morning as well. Was running the insider fast (Office 365), and am currently changing back to the targeted monthly channel. Is this the dreaded removal of OneNote Desktop form the 2019 version being tested? Couldn't see any notes about it online ...
