Updated to 16.4.1 (180613) today and it seems to have fixed the bug.
Word can't print due to a problem with the printer setup

MS Word for Mac version 16.14
No changes to system. Word update installed yesterday, since that time, Word alone can't print from the system, pops this error each time before the print dialogue. Will not print. Other MS Office products still working fine (excel, etc). Printing from any other application on system also works fine. Reboot did not help either.
Any other ideas?

Jim G 134.1K Reputation points MVP2018-05-29T15:20:22+00:00 To all affected - please be sure to report this using the Smile button and sending a frown. When you send via the Smile button from an Insider build, you are sending "telemetry" information that can help Microsoft diagnose the issue and fix it.

2018-06-04T21:42:48+00:00 I was having the same issue with MS Word for Mac 16.14 (180602).
This is what worked for me:
- Save as a new file (FILE > SAVE AS)
- Quit Word
- Open up new file and print.

This is still happening on 16.15 - I have a Canon, as well. (Canon MF229dw)

2018-06-06T18:12:32+00:00 Also happening on a MacBook running High Sierra O/S and Word for Mac 16.14 (180602). Have to quit Word, restart program and then can print only once.
