Word can't print due to a problem with the printer setup

MS Word for Mac version 16.14
No changes to system. Word update installed yesterday, since that time, Word alone can't print from the system, pops this error each time before the print dialogue. Will not print. Other MS Office products still working fine (excel, etc). Printing from any other application on system also works fine. Reboot did not help either.
Any other ideas?

2018-05-09T17:08:26+00:00 Can you provide the full, exact error that you're receiving when trying to print? Also, what printer are you using? Have you updated the printer drivers to the most recent version?

"Word can't print due to a problem with the printer setup." with a button for "OK" only.
After I acknowledge the error, the normal print dialogue pops up and I am able to complete the print normally. After this initial print is complete, if I attempt to print again, then the error process stays the same, but nothing will be delivered to the printer. If I quit word and restart, then I can print again for that initial time, but not for additional prints thereafter. Each print requires me to close Word, re-open, and start the process again.
All other MS Office apps print without error. All other system applications print without error.
Print driver is Konica Minolta C458 PS Driver 10.1.0

2018-05-09T18:38:13+00:00 Can you try deleting and re-adding the printer? Are there any other printers available to print to that you could try setting as the default to see if the same thing happens?

2018-05-09T19:36:36+00:00 Changed default printer to another printer (Officejet Pro 8600) - worked fine, no error.
Deleted main printer (Konica Minolta C458) from system, re-added printer - printer problem returns.
