Outlook search bar moved to the title!?

This change is absolute disaster, not only it moves the most frequent thing I use in Outlook to inconvenient position, it is also more cumbersome to use due to its dropdown behavior. I want my separate search fields to be always displayed and stay on the same position without jumping back and forth. This new Search box is so annoying and bad. I can't emphasize how it destroyed my Outlook experience in a polite way for this board.

If someone from my organization designed something like this I'd fire UX/UI designer immediately include the manager who approved this decision.

I think the IT departments from some very large companies need to get together with legal council and mount a class action law suite against Microsoft for widespread inefficiencies that lead to higher costs across the board.

This simply has the be the worst UI design I have ever come across :-(

It is an absolute nightmare to use and the text editing in the input box behaves awkwardly. The selection behavior is rigid and the placement obstructs other command when using the search bar.

I do not think they have ever talked to a frequent user, otherwise this would not have happened!

You describe EXACTLY what is the problem... this drop-down that overlaps search tools.. this is insane..

Would support the topic. The update is rather a bad change in UX. Here is what annoys me the most:

1. extra click to get search fields visible. Moreover, sometimes it doesn't help (a bug), and to fix it, I have to restart the app
   Previously the fields appeared right after putting the pointer into the 'search'
2. if to search by 'fields', then I have to click 'Search' with a mouse because Enter doesn't work
