Has anyone seen this before. Any advise on how to move back to default position?

Searching emails is kind of fundamental to my and (I assume) millions of others. Given that MS has decided to break this and not fix it I've taken a different route.

I've gone back to a search product i used to use about five years ago called Copernic Desktop Search. It was good then and in the last five years it's been updated even further.

Highly recommended. Point it to the directories where you keep your documents and to any PST files (whether open in outlook or not). It takes a couple of days to index everything but once done it's a massive productivity boost.

Find anything and everything in seconds. Searches attachments. Gives you previews. Shows you where your search terms are in the targets. It's light years ahead of MS.

    Worth a look.

I am not affiliated. Just a happy (returning) customer.

It is quite ridiculous.  I've been working with PCs since Commodore 64s were mainstream and this is the silliest upgrade I have ever seen.

Have used Office/OL since O97 and all versions up to 365, I have no issues or problems with the search bar location or its use
