This is not a bug, this is a "new feature" that the latest update gave.

But it's very annoying actually, when you try to search something it brings a dropdown that  hides the top results of the search.

    What we want is:

"How Can We Restore The Search Bar, as it was before (and for future changes, ask the users) "

The location of this search bar renders it absolutely useless. One of our techs has been trying to remedy this for about an hour to no avail.

    Microsoft needs to fix this!!!!

This is truly the worst thing for my productivity. I use search constantly and miss the drop down. Not sure why mine just flipped on 6/11 - but an extremely irritating downgrade to outlook. Looks more like the completely lame search capabilities of iOS.

Consider yourself lucky - I have lived with this lame "new" Outlook search for a year already and still loathe every time I have to use it... tried many ways to get old one back including all known registry hacks - no success..

I agree 100% I can’t think of one update in the last two years to outlook that has “improved” anything about the program.

The sad part there really are no alernatives to outlook.

I just cant imagine this being tested and people saying these riduclous changes are an improvment.

Thats exactly what happened to me. I was working outlook and it started acting up. I shut it down and restart and apparently i was forcibly sent another update.

I miss the old days of Windows Update and if you wanted downoaidng the patched and service packs when you decided to do it. This is just crazy.
