Has anyone seen this before. Any advise on how to move back to default position?

    Hi Stephanie,

You cannot revert back.  This was a design change and you will learn to love it.  I would imagine since it is a month since your original post that you have learned to already love it and regret your original comment.

This was an early Christmas present for you!

    Hey Microsoft!

Today was the day I started to think about this feature. My honest opinion is that I will not use it. However, UI is getting more and more complicated on the header. I usually drag and drop all sorts of window around the screen. Office search bar and other buttons are making it hard to grab the window and drag it around. I think you are losing function with overcrowding the header of the window. Just a feedback, hope it helps.

    Best regards

The space it was in is now blank/unused so it is not saving any space.

It is now further from the working area which is inconvenient and it has other problems.

Hi, I really want to solve this issue of location of the search bar (appeared on top instead of its normal place yesterday on 08 Dec, 2020). It is SUPER annoying!

    Please help me resolve ASAP.

It's not a free license and I want it to work as it should.

"Expecting MS expert to respond with a working solution."

    LMFAO...thanks for the laugh

you have to roll back the install...see my previous posts

My experience has been that the rollbacks don't stick through major release updates and you will  have to follow the rollback instructions twice a year. That said, sucks to be us. MS isn't interested in our suggestions related to the search bar. MS motto on this one is "conform or be left behind." It would be nice to see some actual competition in the OS and Office product industry. I know I would explore other options (Not Apple, God I hate those guys)
