Has anyone seen this before. Any advise on how to move back to default position?

I fully agree. I have been (trying) to use the new search for a good while now and I really tried to get used to it and to find the benefits.

There are no benefits to find, it is terrible, user unfriendly and no UI designer should ever approve this.

    Incredible.

Searching emails is kind of fundamental to my and (I assume) millions of others. Given that MS has decided to break this and not fix it I've taken a different route.

In my opinion the pinnacle version of Microsoft Outlook was 2010. Everything since then has removed useable features, primarily an efficient means of searching the current folder and highlighting folders with new mail.

Hopefully everyone else who's annoyed by this has feedbacked.

I can't believe how bad this is... perhaps the programmers are working with small laptop screens and it's not so disruptive to the workflow on a 14" screen but on a 24" - 32", it's awful.

Have used Office/OL since O97 and all versions up to 365, I have no issues or problems with the search bar location or its use
