Steve_K - Sorry to hear that the Ink to text pen is not showing up in OneNote for you.

To better help you out, would you please provide in-app feedback inside of OneNote? You can do this by going to OneNote and the "File" tab, select "Feedback" from the left hand side. Then select "Report a problem" on the right side.

This is the best way for us to investigate and figure out why the Ink to Text pen is not showing up for you.

    thanks,

    Hello,Steve_K_ms

    Welcome to the Microsoft community!

I have realized that your issues.

Before that, I would like to ask you for some information to better address your question.

I would like to confirm that what's the current version of your Office( For example 2408)and which Windows system and device you are current using?

Are you sure you meet all the requirements here?Includes digital pen or stylus, system and language.

I just tested this with a Surface and I was able to do this with the stylus that comes with the Surface when I met the version and system language.

If it is the Ink to Text Pen feature, it can recognize text automatically. If it's another drawing pen, you can convert the text by circling it.

Are you currently missing this feature? If so, I suggest you check your current version of OneNote to make sure you are under the Preview Experience program.

Then check to see if the region of your current system is an English-speaking region.

Then you can try checking for updates

You can also try resetting Office to refresh your license.

    Registry Reset Office

Press Windows + R and type regedit in the Open Run box and press Enter.

Locate the following key and rename the Office folder (right-click it and select Rename (for example, Office will be renamed Officeold)):

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office

Then open the word document again to try the effect.

Disclaimer: Registry or workgroup modifications are typically intended for power users, administrators, and IT professionals and can help resolve some issues, but incorrect modification of the registry can lead to serious problems. So, strictly follow the steps below. Make a backup of the registry before modifying it for added protection. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, see: How to back up and restore the registry in Windows - Microsoft Support

Since the Microsoft community is not able to provide you with remote support, I suggest that you contact Microsoft support to provide you with remote service to check out the specific issue if it is convenient for you.

    Contact Microsoft Support.

    1. Visit this website: Contact - Microsoft Support
    2. Type in your problems in the search box there. For instance, subscription/Tax invoices/refund, etc.
    3. Now click Get help, and Select Contact Support below.
    4. Go to the Products and services tab, and choose either Microsoft 365 and Office category or Other Products
    5. On the Category tab, choose Manage My Subscription or other alternatives.
    6. Go to Confirm.
    7. You can now choose the option of Chat with a support agent on your web browser.

Please Note: The Chat support team only works at certain times, so if the last window says you are not available, try to open it again the next day. If you prefer phone support, you can leave a phone number. That way, they can call you and help you.

Feel free to post back if you need further assistance.
