Hi everyone, and sorry for my strong language, but I am really fed up with the new Outlook Search on the title bar, that appeared a couple of months ago in the Insider build. Outlook Search used to work perfectly well for years, why did MS have to touch it really? Does anyone else feel so annoyed as well with the latest changes? Just an example from today: The new search bar, that has unfortunately been moved to the title bar, not only is it no functionally positioned - compared to how useful it was - but also does not work correctly: I am used to typing "to:" of "from:" and the name of the person whose mail I am looking for. No autocomplete for the names here I am used to typing "hasattachment:yes"; not only the autocomplete is gone (it used to come up after typing "has"), but no search results show up, even if there are emails sent to the particular person with attachments the same as #2 happens when I use the "has attachments" button of the ribbon. No results are shown, although there are messages with attachments for the particular person the new filter options (the ones you get when you click on the "Current folder" option at the title bar) are not consistent with what you have already typed in the search filter. E.g. I already have typed "hasattachment:yes" and I can still select "yes" in the attachment filter, so I end up for two "hasattachment:yes" options in the search bar, which of course doesn't work (not that it worked with one statement) What a big scr*!@up of the Outlook search feature! Please revert to the previous one!

Please take your issue (which is my issue also) to Microsoft Feedback from within Outlook. It is the only way we have to influence them.

I am having the same issue. I don't know why without even an updated that my search bar moved. Took me an hour to figure out what happened. Tried to figure out how to move it, impossible. This makes no sense. Visually you are now diverting your attention away from the area and up, you also have to move outside the general area your mouse is already in.... Finally, it just does not make sense to put it there, is this where I go to do other things for my email, no. It is where I go to close outlook... I am so frustrated that I am not given a choice to move this stupid thing. I am busy and don't have the time to be at the whim of some programmer's great idea of design and functionality. This is not the first time they've moved something that does not make sense. Horrible choice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I would like to divert this back. Is there even a way. Thank you for the link to the tech community blog. The info in the blog helped me in using the new search tool for Outlook. WHY DIDN'T MICROSOFT MAKE THIS AVAILABLE TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC WHEN THEY PUT THE COMING SOON OPTION INPLACE??? THIS MAKES NO SENSE. WHY WOULD THEY FEEL THEY HAD MADE A GOOD DECISION IN FRUSTRATING THIER USERS ? AND YES, I'M SCREAMING AT YOU MICROSOFT.

That advice might be more useful if in fact there were a pathway Help>Feedback in Outlook , which there isn't .

Hi all, By accident I have found the below. If you click into the search bar (in the title bar) and instead of typing your search, click on the right hand side where the search location is... the usual accustomed search fields appear for a more targeted search. It is still further away from the original location but at least it has the refined search fields. I hope this helps (those that didn't know already)!
