Hi everyone, and sorry for my strong language, but I am really fed up with the new Outlook Search on the title bar, that appeared a couple of months ago in the Insider build. Outlook Search used to work perfectly well for years, why did MS have to touch it really? Does anyone else feel so annoyed as well with the latest changes? Just an example from today: The new search bar, that has unfortunately been moved to the title bar, not only is it no functionally positioned - compared to how useful it was - but also does not work correctly: I am used to typing "to:" of "from:" and the name of the person whose mail I am looking for. No autocomplete for the names here I am used to typing "hasattachment:yes"; not only the autocomplete is gone (it used to come up after typing "has"), but no search results show up, even if there are emails sent to the particular person with attachments the same as #2 happens when I use the "has attachments" button of the ribbon. No results are shown, although there are messages with attachments for the particular person the new filter options (the ones you get when you click on the "Current folder" option at the title bar) are not consistent with what you have already typed in the search filter. E.g. I already have typed "hasattachment:yes" and I can still select "yes" in the attachment filter, so I end up for two "hasattachment:yes" options in the search bar, which of course doesn't work (not that it worked with one statement) What a big scr*!@up of the Outlook search feature! Please revert to the previous one!

This change is utterly unusable on the Surface Go under the following conditions: A number of Quick Actions are configured (which take up real estate in the title bar) Outlook is dragged to one half of the screen and any other app is on the other half The impact is: essentially no way to use the Search Bar, and there is no place to click or tap to move the window. What in the world were they thinking? It's as though there is no consideration to UI design anymore in these apps. "I know! I have a large hi-res monitor. I'll move the search bar to the title bar. I'll love it there and SO WILL EVERYONE ELSE." Pathetic.

Big businesses equals big government, same uncompromising disrespectful individual results. One size fits all for them, leaving shoddy quality, services, and support for everyone else.

Microsoft continues to push universal windows platform which means they are shoving one size fits all methodology into their business model. The result is clear that the desktop experience has become a second class OS. I don't use the search feature, not only because it doesn't work, the windows search doesn't work either, but because I don't want it because it hasn't worked since Windows 2000. What's extremely annoying is that I can't turn off the search dialog or shrink it and put the title back so that I can actually click the title area to activate Outlook when it's obscured by other windows. Don't get me started on Windows 10 having NO window borders and the productivity killer that provides. Microsoft is IT because they made themselves a monopoly early on. Sure there's a lot of infrastructures that don't host Microsoft but the number's weight out that the Microsoft OS prevails in most run-the-country (backbone) businesses offices. They are never going to revert, it's been 20+ years since their file system search actually worked, why would they bother with this, IMHO.

I also can't stand this feature and it's only been a couple of weeks on my system. Not only that, but now when I need to search contacts, and there are more than 1 contact with same name, it just brings up one of them. Not acceptable!!! Edit - I did find, but if I put in Bill - it will bring a list up of 20 Bill's - this was found in the "people" search. Under the title bar Search - it doesn't bring up anything. This sucks.

We investigated adding an option to support search in the old location. Unfortunately, at this time we cannot support making the search box location configurable. Future Microsoft Search updates are incompatible with the old location. I also can't stand this feature and it's only been a couple of weeks on my system. Not only that, but now when I need to search contacts, and there are more than 1 contact with same name, it just brings up one of them. Not acceptable!!! Edit - I did find, but if I put in Bill - it will bring a list up of 20 Bill's - this was found in the "people" search. Under the title bar Search - it doesn't bring up anything. This sucks.
