Launch power query editor on Mac

Good day

I am trying to get access to Power Query Editor on Mac. I have done the latest Excel beta and current channel (preview) updates as required and currently have Excel version 16.64 installed, but still don't have a Power Query Editor option. According to Office Insider this feature is available to Beta Channel users running Version 16.61 or later.

Attached is a screenshot of what I should be seeing according to Office insider when I select get data in the data tab, and a screenshot of what I'm actually seeing.

I do have a Microsoft 365 subscription, I have the bèta channel but still not able to see the launch power query editor button.

    Hi

    You posted to the Office Insider forum, which is for Beta Channel users. The version you have is not the current Beta Channel build.

    To get the Beta Channel Build use the Help menu in Excel. Choose Check for Updates, which launches AutoUpdate app.

    In AutoUpdate, click the Advanced button, then switch Update Channel to Beta Channel. Once you have installed the Beta Channel update, you should find PowerQuery on the Data tab of the Ribbon.

    Hello,

    I was having the same issue, select the beta channel and download/install process. You then need to restart your Mac for the power query editor button to pop up.

    Hi Jim,

    I am having the same issue as Nathalie Doms1 did.

    • I have a Office365 Subscription
    • I have completed all updates
    • I have BETA Channel selected
    • I have restarted my MAC

    and still no Launch Editor available.

    Can you assist please.

    Hi

    If your subscription is managed or is of a type that allows feature updates only once or twice a year, you may have to wait to have access to the feature.

    When any new feature is rolled out in the beta channel, one group of testers gets the new feature and another does not and acts as a control. This allows Microsoft to compare behavior of Excel with and without the new feature in case there's crashes, compatibility problems, etc.

    Having all the necessary background does not guarantee you will be in the group that gets a particular new feature. If you do get a new feature, it could be active one week and not active the next when you install the weekly update. Getting a particular new feature to test in the beta channel is not a sure thing.
