Searching for Apostrophe or Quotation Mark Can Only Be Performed in Reverse

I happened along an apparent glitch in the search function today, where after finding the first instance of an apostrophe (') or quotation mark ("), I could not continue to search forward for the next occurrence in the PowerPoint file, only backward. I am running version 16.18 (180828) of Office 365.

    This is a good question. I just checked ten other files or so, and it turns out the answer is yes AND no. It seems that this is an issue with smart quotes. The search will work until it hits its first smart quote apostrophe or quotation mark/double quotes, at which point it fails to progress forward. I found this out quite by accident when I opened a file that did not initially use smart quotes.
