Hi Insiders!
We're now bringing Office 365 groups to Outlook for Mac – it is currently available to Insiders and Production users! (Blog Post) With the first update, you can view your top 10 groups in the folder pane and read/compose/reply to group conversations. We are continually adding new capabilities, and you will see them in future updates.
For those who are not familiar with Office 365 groups, it is a service developed with collaboration in mind. It works with the Office 365 tools you use already so you can collaborate with your teammates when writing documents, creating spreadsheets, working on project plans, scheduling meetings, or sending email. Groups in Outlook for Mac falls under the first pillar and V1 release will enable users to engage with group members right from the group’s inbox and view group conversations with full history without leaving the app. For more info, refer to this page.
If you’re already a member of a group, Groups will automatically appear in the left navigation pane. But if you’re not a member of any groups, join one through Outlook on the Web (Join a Group in Outlook).

I have made multiple attempts, but have been unable to get Groups to show up in Outlook 2016 for Mac. I have checked for updates and have made sure that I am enrolled in the Fast Track updates. All to no avail. The groups to show up for the same account when using a PC.

Hi Franzo, can you please confirm your Subscription type for Mac Outlook?
Go to Outlook > About Outlook in the menu and one of the pieces of info there says "License:"
Can you tell me what text you see there?
If it does not say Office 365 Subscription, then that would explain why you do not see groups as this feature is for O365 subscribers only. If you do have an O365 subscription for the Mac, please do let me know and I can help with changing your subscription type.
Hi Faisal - I too can't see "groups" in Outlook for Mac, even though I'm subscribed to two groups and can see them if I log in to Office365 on the web. I checked and my Outlook for Mac shows "License: Volume License", even though our enterprise is built on Office365. Can you help me get my subscription state updated as well? Thanks in advance for the help.

I'm having the same issue it's shows Volume rather than O365, can I have the resolution?
A lot of folks have asked for this so here are the instructions. Please only do this if you have an O365 client subscription -
In order to reset your license type (assuming you are ok with doing this and have an account that is associated with an O365 license) here is what you need to do -
Your office suite should now be deactivated. You can now reactivate it with your account that is tied to the subscription and also sign in with this account in to word. (you can add additional accounts in Mac outlook for mail). You can verify the subscription type by going o Outlook > About Outlook and confirming that the license type now reads "Office 365 Subscription", and Groups should show up in your left nav.
