I have the same issue.
One work around:
Get Data > From File > From Workbook > select the same Workbook and desired Table in it as Data Source.
Works for me in the meantime.

Interesting. Note though that will only work if the file is on a normal file system - local hard drive, network drive. it will not work if the file is on Sharepoint as most of our files are, unless the user is syncing that library locally. If your file is on a local file system, certainly easier than my solution.
For now, I've just been:
- creating a new blank query
- typing = Excel.CurrentWorkbook() in the formula bar
- press enter
- navigate and expand the table
