Get Data from Table/Range grayed out if cursor is in a legit Excel Table Build 1809

The Get & Transform icon to get data "from a table or range" is grayed out if the cell is in an Excel table. If it is in a non-table area, it converts to a table and loads, but will not let you load from a real table. You have to either load from a different table then change the SOURCE = line in the query, or manually type the = Excel.CurrentWorkbook(){[Name="Table1"]}[Content] statement.

This is Excel 1809 build 10809.20001.

I know for a fact this worked yesterday, and I got this build last night.

    I have the same issue.

    One work around:

    Get Data > From File > From Workbook > select the same Workbook and desired Table in it as Data Source.

    Works for me in the meantime.

    However, subscribed, as this is one of the features I use quite frequently...

    Interesting. Note though that will only work if the file is on a normal file system - local hard drive, network drive. it will not work if the file is on Sharepoint as most of our files are, unless the user is syncing that library locally. If your file is on a local file system, certainly easier than my solution.

    For now, I've just been:

    1. creating a new blank query
    2. typing = Excel.CurrentWorkbook() in the formula bar
    3. press enter
    4. navigate and expand the table

    This appears to be fixed in insider 1809 build 10823.20000.

    My machines on 1808 Monthly Targeted still broken, and no update is being reported. Hopefully that one will be available soon.

    Have discovered problem also impacts simply double-clicking on a Query in order to edit it. Won't work. However right-clicking the query from side panel does.

    In event that a query has error(s), clicking on the link to the query containing errors (derivative query) does not work either. Requires Task Manager in order to exit.

    Yesterday, I did unistall Office and install it again - and the problem was solved for me. After installation I now have 1808-10730.20088 and it is working again :-)

    Yup. Confirmed. My other PC must have upgraded itself in the last 12-24 hrs since  last checked it and it is on 20088 as well, and it works again.
