Notebooks Backup in OneNote is no longer working

Automatic and manual backups is no longer working in OneNote!

File > Option > Save & Backup > 'Back Up All Notebooks Now' does not trigger anything :/

Backup Folder: C:\Users\*name*\OneNote

(16.07167.2040)

Any thoughts?

    And the bug is back for me as well, no way I can fix it after trying all the suggestions above

    FYI this was bothering me for months. Here is the fix:

    1. Go to OneNote options
    2. Save and Backup
    3. Make sure Back up notebooks stored on SharePoint IS CHECKED. If it's not checked, I experienced the same behavior as you described. 

    Drove me nuts, but I hope this helps :)

    I take back my last post. I clicked OK to save the opton changes and came back in and this time the backup worked. Weird why a Sharepoint option has anything to do with it since I don't use Sharepoint.

    Sorry, I edited my last post as, in fact, your suggestion to check the Sharepoint box worked. I just had not saved the changes and after clicking OK and returning to the backup area and trying again it worked. Thanks so much for this baffling solution as I'd all but given up on finding a fix.

    Seems weird though and must be a bug. I thnk it's a bit rubbish of Microsoft to not have fixed it by now.
