File > Option > Save & Backup > 'Back Up All Notebooks Now' does not trigger anything :/

Backup Folder: C:\Users\*name*\OneNote

(16.07167.2040)

Any thoughts?

Agreed, it's whatever suits you that's important.

Since I went Apple about 5 years ago I have tried to cut over entirely to that platform and it's really only Visio that keeps me hanging on to my VM these days. That and also since Windows is so prolific in the enterprise it's impossible to ignore so it pays to keep familiar with it. It would be silly to think it's going away any time soon and I must admit it is improving to the point where perhaps the two are more comparable these days.

I think Apple has somewhat of an advantage in controlling both the hardware and software platform although you could argue that Microsoft has the Surface now. It's mostly drive issues that have plagued me with Windows and even with the Surface I came across ugly driver issues with the wireless implementation when deploying for large customers.

I love One Note and store everything in it these days from my work notes to home automation notes, etc. etc. That's why not having a local backup makes me nervous. I would be majorly depressed if somehow I lost my all my notes.

I_love_Mia - Be reasonable, it's only about 9 months since you posted your fix. The developers are probably working on 8086 based machines which have almost booted up by now so I expect a fix any year now :-)

If you think you have it bad the only reason I'm even running the windows version is in a virtual machine so I can do local backups of my notebooks since on the Mac it's a painful manual procedure to do it. Microsoft hasn't deemed it necessary to implement the local backup feature at all in the OSX version.

Of course Apple's response would be that they see no need for Apple users to have that feature and it's not good for us as it might introduce instability or excessive battery use on the platform :-)

Now be nice please. I won't harangue you about running the biggest virus ever released for the X86 platform (AKA Windows) if you don't label me an Apple fanboy :-) I do love to laugh at the passionate arguments from both sides of the fence though. Boy do people get riled up.

I love both systems and have OSX + Win10 + iOS.

    Each one comes from + & -'s.

I've been waiting for OneNote to fix their damn synching issues for 10 years. It's the only reason I can't go 100% OneNote and have to rely on dropbox :(

rofl. I can't believe they haven't fixed it yet.

Actually, I can believe it. OneNote is one of the most useful apps ever with one of the most aggravating development teams of all time.

    *smacks forehead*.

I've looked for alternatives obviously... nothing comes close
