When does the new checkbox functionality come to the Current Channel Insiders? I'm using Excel 365 version 2405 and don't have it there yet.

    Hi,JPKS1969.

    Welcome to the Microsoft community.

Regarding your reference to the new checkbox feature in Excel, I am happy to provide you with information about it.

The release of a new checkbox feature typically occurs in the following stages:

    1. Office Insider Program (Preview Experience members):

The feature is first released on the Beta Channel for Preview members to test and provide feedback.

    2. Current Channel:

After Beta Channel testing and improvement, the feature will be gradually rolled out to Current Channel users.

Based on the information you have provided, you are currently using Excel 365 version 2405 and have not yet seen the new checkbox feature. The release of features may vary in timing due to a phased rollout. Even within the same channel, the timing of when different users receive the update may vary.

In addition, you can make sure you have access to the latest features soon by following the steps below:

    • Check for updates:
    • Please make sure that your Excel has been updated to the latest version. You can do this by following the steps below:
    1. Open Excel.
    2. Click on the File menu and select Accounts.
    3. In the Product Information section, click Update Options and then select Update Now.
    4. Join the Office Insider program:
    • If you want to get an early taste of the new features, consider joining the Office Insider Program and selecting the Beta Channel:
    1. Open Excel.
    2. Click on the File menu and select Account.
    3. In the “Office Insider” section, click “Join Office Insider”.
    4. Select “Beta Channel” and follow the prompts to complete the setup.

Please note: If you have joined the Office Insider program and are using the latest version but have not yet seen the new features, this may be due to a gradual rollout strategy. Please be patient as features will be rolled out to your account shortly.

    Thanks Hannah,

it takes surprisingly long to get this feature from Beta to Current Channel. I think it has been in the Beta version already quite some time.

    Best Regards,

    Jussi
