Powerpoint 16.15 (180530) Save as PDF - images are blurry

Even when PDF export quality is set to high - the images on the PPT are blurry when using PDF export.  The images are fine in the PPT itself.

Choose Help>Check for Updates and in that dialog, check Join the Office Insider program to get early access to new releases. Then choose Office Insider Slow for fairly well-tested code or Office Insider Fast for advanced features with more bugs. Don't choose the latter on a computer you use to get work done.

This issue has been fixed in Insider Slow channel since build 16.15 (180701) and in Insider Fast channel since build 16.16 (180702), and it should reach the rest of our users soon. Please update your builds and let us know if the problem is not fully resolved.

    Hi Marcos,

    Thanks for the quick response.

    Unfortunately the link doesn't work - I think it's been cut off?

    When I go to File I don't have "Options" in the menu, could it be anywhere else? I tired going to the "Preferences" menu can can't see these options to switch off automatic compression.

    When I go to the Acrobat tab, the only option I have is "Create PDF"

    I'm on Version 16.14.1 on a 365 Subscription does this effect these things?

    Check If you're following right process through this Link:

    And you can try to handle follow these steps: 

    TURNING OFF AUTOMATIC PICTURE COMPRESSION IN POWERPOINT 2013 & 2016: 

    Click "FILE / OPTIONS / ADVANCED". 

    In the list at IMAGE SIZE AND QUALITY, do one of the following: 

    Ignore the list to select your current document by default. 

    Click the list arrow and select the file that you want to turn off picture compression for. 

    Choose All New Documents to turn off picture compression on all future documents. 

    Under IMAGE SIZE AND QUALITY, select the DO NOT COMPRESS IMAGES IN FILE check box. This setting applies to only the document that you selected in the Image Size and Quality list, unless you selected All New Documents. 

    NOW, LET'S TACKLE THE ACROBAT SETTINGS THAT NEED TO BE FIXED 

    Open PowerPoint or Word. 

    Click on the "Acrobat" menu. 

    Click on the "Preferences" menu. 

    Click on the "Advanced Settings ..." button. 

    Click on the "Images" item. 

    Select "Off" for "Downsample" in the "Color Images", "Greyscale Images", and "Monochrome Images" sections. 

    Select "Off" or "ZIP" for "Compression" in the "Color Images", "Greyscale Images", and "Monochrome Images" sections. 

    Click "OK" 

    Click "OK" 

    Let me know If it works.

    Hello,

    We've run the latest update on PowerPoint for Mac, now when we make PDFs the text and images come out blurry, line weights fatten / blur, shapes with gradient or transparency flatten to a solid colour, etc. It seems to do it randomly (ie, some pages are fine) and weird that it distorts things like text and shapes that were made in PowerPoint.

    We have the settings at highest quality in preferences.

    And our OS and Acrobat software are both up to date.

    Is anyone else having the same issue? Or any ideas on how to fix this?

    It's happened to all of our machines that have run the update.

    Very painful - we now have to export pages as JPEGs then pull them in to a PDF in Acrobat.
