Powerpoint 16.15 (180530) Save as PDF - images are blurry

Even when PDF export quality is set to high - the images on the PPT are blurry when using PDF export.  The images are fine in the PPT itself.

Choose Help>Check for Updates and in that dialog, check Join the Office Insider program to get early access to new releases. Then choose Office Insider Slow for fairly well-tested code or Office Insider Fast for advanced features with more bugs. Don't choose the latter on a computer you use to get work done.

This issue has been fixed in Insider Slow channel since build 16.15 (180701) and in Insider Fast channel since build 16.16 (180702), and it should reach the rest of our users soon. Please update your builds and let us know if the problem is not fully resolved.

    Hi Everyone,

    Thank you for keeping us updated on the situation. We previously received feedback regarding PDF outputs being either too large/too small (too low quality).

    To resolve this, we introduced an Export to PDF option for quality selection. PDF options can be accessed through Settings > General > Print Quality (Paper/PDF). You can choose between High, Medium, or Low image quality. For print, we recommend using high quality; for export to PDF, we recommend using low or medium quality (depending on your optimal file size).

    For your reference:

    Export to PDF options

    Save PowerPoint presentations as PDF files

    If you would like to control the size of your PDF, we suggest trying to set the quality to Medium. We have just tested this on a brand new PowerPoint file on version 16.16 and got a PDF output of 5MB from a 4.9MB PowerPoint file.

    Let us know the result of the output on your end.

    207 people with THE SAME PROBLEM going through the trouble reporting this

    that means that probably:

    • 2070 people are super annoyed
    • 20.700 people experience this once and a while
    • 200.700 people will experience this in the future

    step it up Microsoft!!!

    You have been brave and innovative in the hardware department (Surface devices, Hololens), but your software on the Mac is still terrible compared to the windows versions

    PowerPoint for mac PDF export is VERY unacceptable!!

    what I make...

    what PPT for mac (16.14.1) makes of it in a PDF export: Looks really, really bad!! Step it up guys!!
