Powerpoint 16.15 (180530) Save as PDF - images are blurry

Even when PDF export quality is set to high - the images on the PPT are blurry when using PDF export.  The images are fine in the PPT itself.

Choose Help>Check for Updates and in that dialog, check Join the Office Insider program to get early access to new releases. Then choose Office Insider Slow for fairly well-tested code or Office Insider Fast for advanced features with more bugs. Don't choose the latter on a computer you use to get work done.

This issue has been fixed in Insider Slow channel since build 16.15 (180701) and in Insider Fast channel since build 16.16 (180702), and it should reach the rest of our users soon. Please update your builds and let us know if the problem is not fully resolved.

    I have had the same issue recently. I use ppt and pdf conversion extensively for client proposals. This issue is recent and started with the last office update.

    Microsoft needs to sort this out asap, as I am unable to function without the pdf conversion working properly.

    Description

    Getting low quality images/texts when exporting to PDF using PowerPoint for Mac even with the highest quality PDF settings.

    Environment

    PowerPoint 2016 for Mac, version 16.14.1.

    UpdateAn update to the Insider Fast channel version 16.16 (180625) has fixed the issue. This fix will slowly trickle down to other channels (Insider Slow as well as Production). ****If you would like to get this release early, you can join the Insider Fast program by referring to the article below: Office Insider - Mac

    It's not image compression (Microsoft's word for downsampling). It's a bad PDF export filter in the current version of Office. 

    Updates come out about once a month, usually on the second week. Many people have complained about this issue, so I sure hope a fix will be out in 10 days or so.
