Powerpoint 16.15 (180530) Save as PDF - images are blurry

Even when PDF export quality is set to high - the images on the PPT are blurry when using PDF export.  The images are fine in the PPT itself.

Choose Help>Check for Updates and in that dialog, check Join the Office Insider program to get early access to new releases. Then choose Office Insider Slow for fairly well-tested code or Office Insider Fast for advanced features with more bugs. Don't choose the latter on a computer you use to get work done.

    The export process in Office Online may be different from what in Office for Mac, so the exported file size may be different between Office Online from Office for Mac. In this case, you can click the Smile button in PowerPoint to explain how the issue impacts your work. The Smile feedback will go to the Office product team and let them get your voice directly.     Based on my test, I suppose you may encounter the situation when adding same pictures for multiple times in one presentation. In this case, PowerPoint may only count the size for pictures displaying in the presentation for one time, no matter how many times they are inserted. However, when you click Print.../Save as PDF, each picture inserted in the PDF file will be counted, including those inserted for multiple times. So the PDF file size is larger than the presentation file size after you saving it as PDF in PowerPoint 2016 for Mac.

    Please help check if you are in the situation I mentioned above, and we are more than willing to help you further.

    i found workaround for the issue:

    In general you have to choose a much bigger paper size than the regular A4 or US-Letter while printing a pdf.

    The easiest way is creating a pdf with the print mode and set the source paper size to A0 (841mm x 1189mm). (For the US-Letter create an own Paper size and define at least an eight time bigger paper size)

    (Bigger sizes than A0 lead to unnecessary big file sizes) 

    To avoid later printing issues you can set in the advanced settings "paper handling" the target size to A4 (or US-letter)

    While testing, I experienced that the thickness of the lines depends on the set source paper size. The smaller the source paper size, the thicker the lines become.

    Nevertheless I hope MS will fix this urgent problem. It is ridiculous that this couldn't be fixed after more than a month.

    The setting to a bigger paper size lead to an unnecessary file size.
