Why can't I just turn off this feature instead of spending time looking for how to turn it off every time the app is updated. I can't turn it off on my phone and this is annoying. The only reason I still use it is because of work. this 2.0 feature is frustrating me. please help to turn it off and never turn on back again by itself.

Just got this wrong sorting after Teams updated itself today. Turns out there was a weird looking "Try new Teams" button in the top left corner and clicking it changed sorting back to normal. It looks like an easy to fix bug, like somebody put a > instead of < somewhere or something like that. Doesn't look like a bug that should take long to fix. Just find that place with sorting or revert last commit or something. I'm surprised that people have been writing about this problem for months (sic!) and couldn't turn the sorting back to normal.

The only "problem": it's not a bug - it's a feature (according to MS) - and it's the future.

You can get used to it now - or delay it a bit by still using the old style ... till it gets disabled.

Interesting, you still have the option to use the old style ?- which Teams version?

I've been afflicted by the inconsistent sorting order for a few months - chat shows the most recent message at the bottom, channel posts show the most recent message at the top. I'm using Teams version 1.6.00.26154 on a Mac, and 1.6.00.26163 on a Windows PC.

A couple of weeks ago, on both platforms I started to see a button asking if I wanted to try 'new Teams'. I've turned it on - it made no difference to the problem, and 'new' Teams doesn't include an option to control the sort order.

So I don't think the 'feature' is related to a version of Teams we can toggle on or off. I seem to recall that it was implemented automatically as part of a background update.

That's a feature in your eyes, but that leaves the majority of users dissatisfied, as you can see in this thread.
Why Microsoft couldn't give us a simple option like "Sort order" instead of frustrating so many users? Is that so complicated? As a long time programmer, I know it isn't... Or it is just a simple consequence of the complexities introduced for no real benefit to the customer, so tasks that were performed at 1x speed on 20 years ago computers, are performed now at 3x speed, but on 100x more powerful computers?
