Has there been an update to the dimensions of the teams backgrounds? March 13, 2025

We are trying to upload 1920 x 1080 custom backgrounds and we are getting an error message saying invalid size. Testing other sizes, anything square 1:1 works but gets cropped in the viewer. We also tried 1280 x 800, but same gets cropped. There isn't mention of this update in any of the update logs. What is the correct size, is there a template to follow to know what gets cropped?

    A number of my colleagues have faced this issue, and I’ve just found a solution:

    1. On a device where the images have successfully uploaded, navigate to the following directory:
      ...*Microsoft\MSTeams\Backgrounds\Uploads*
    2. Inside the Uploads folder, locate the relevant images along with their corresponding "_thumb" versions.
    3. Copy these images and share them with users who are unable to upload them.
    4. On the affected devices, place the copied images into the same Uploads directory.

    This should resolve the issue.
