How do I get Microsoft Teams from opening links on Microsoft Edge instead of Google Chrome?

Anything I try to open sends me to Microsoft Edge instead of Google Chrome like it used to. How can I change this?

Hello Pablo,

By default, web links will open in Microsoft Edge. But you can change it by going to Settings > Files and links > Link open preference and select the browser you prefer in your case Google Chrome.

    Instead of navigating through Chrome settings, locate the settings for Microsoft Teams by clicking on the three dots next to your profile name.

    Once in settings, you'll find a list of menus under the Settings heading on the left side.

    Click on "Files and Links." You'll see the "Links Open Preference" field on the right side.

    From the "Always Open links in" dropdown, select "Default Browser" instead of Microsoft Edge. This ensures that all links open in your default browser.

    Ensure that Chrome is set as your default browser from Chrome settings if you prefer links to open in Chrome.

    Bad decision making by Microsoft and their Teams department. Basically a lack of respect for the end-user, honestly.
